About the Procedure

Dr. Mazaheri has been specially trained in body lifting procedures, whether you are in need of a traditional body lift or you are a massive weight loss patient. Through surgical resection, areas such as upper arms, inner thighs, and buttocks may be altered for improved contour.

Body contouring is best suited for women and men who are in relatively good shape but have a tremendous amount of loose skin after extensive weight loss.

This is a cosmetic surgery procedure that combines abdominoplasty with thigh and buttock lifts and also removes soft tissue from the lower back area. Total lower body lifts are best suited for women and men who are in relatively good shape, but have a tremendous amount of loose abdominal and lower back skin after extensive weight loss.

The lower body lift plastic surgery procedure is ideal for massive weight loss (MWL) patients.

Are You a Candidate for a Body Lift?

You may be a good candidate for this procedure if you have one or more of the following conditions:

  • Excess or loose trunk, buttock and thigh skin
  • An abdomen that protrudes and is out of proportion to the rest of the body
  • Abdominal muscles that have been weakened, creating loose skin
  • Excess fat that is concentrated beneath the skin

As with body contouring procedures, if you are exploring total lower body lift procedures and plan to become pregnant or lose more weight, you should discuss these plans with Dr. Mazaheri.

Massive Weight Loss Patients

Those who have recently lost a great deal of weight may be candidates for body lifting to remove excess hanging skin. This type of procedure should only be performed by specially trained plastic surgeons such as Dr. Mazaheri.

Many massive weight loss patients also experience loose or hanging skin on their faces and may consider some type of facial surgery.

Common Body Lift Questions

What is the difference between a “lower body lift” and a tummy tuck?

A LBL is a highly specialized body contouring procedure that few plastic surgeons perform. It combines a tummy tuck with an outer thigh lift and buttock lift. It is a circumferential body contouring procedure. I have successfully performed hundreds of these procedures.

Will liposuction help tighten my inner thighs?

The answer is NO. Liposuction can be used to debulk the fat from this area which generally leads to flabbier inner thighs. The ideal procedure is an inner thigh lift because it removes fat as well as loose skin. I perform two different types of thigh lift based on the amount of your tissue laxity.
